A line edit reviews the document for basic grammar, punctuation, and formatting. Minor issues related to style and structure (e.g., clarity, linearity, content, flow, and academic tone) are also addressed through revisions to the text, suggestions for improvements to address these problems, or examples of options for revision. Editing can identify content issues and design flaws, but it does not fix substantive issues. Coaching and/or further revision from the client is often necessary prior to the completion of a final draft.
Statistical analysis involves cleaning and reviewing numeric data using descriptive and inferential statistics including, but not limited to, correlational and regression analyses, factor analysis, analysis of variance, and partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM).
Publication editing provides a line edit option for researchers seeking to have their articles reviewed and polished prior to publication. This service is similar to PhD coaching but at the publication level.
Coaching includes a review of materials to help students conceptualize and plan their projects (i.e., outlining, research design, etc.). Coaching also helps students resolve content issues and design flaws identified during editing. Coaching is useful when students get stalled in the dissertation process. Coaching helps students identify and fix missing or misaligned content, flawed research designs, or organization issues. Extensive revision for clarity, linearity, and content alignment also fall under the coaching category.
Qualitative data coding involves filtering, tagging, and grouping data in support of the identification and generation of themes. This service does not include digitizing raw data in the form of audio recordings or entering transcript data into an appropriate software package.
Publication coaching involves helping researchers conceptualize initial drafts or revise drafts based on the peer-review process. This service is similar to PhD coaching but at the publication level.
